Vandenhazel|In most of the books in this series, if a Winslow character has trouble there's usually another family member in the story that gets involved and helps them in some way, but not in this book. In fact the name "Winslow" isn't mentioned at all, except in the first chapter where Alona tells her sons tha|About the Author|GILBERT MORRIS was a pastor before becoming an English professor and earning a Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas. He and his wife live in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

Life during the Great Depression has been hard for Alona Winslow Jennings, but it is turned upside down when she loses her husband in a terrible accident. When she marries Oscar Moran, a wealthy older man, her motivation is far more about Oscar providing for her three young sons than any romantic inclinations.
