It is the original, without 20th century "improvements". The style is very old, but the depth is worth wading through. One thing that will put off readers who are not willing to be challenged is the dialog is in|About the Author|Lewis Wallace (10 April 1827 – 15 February 1905) was a General in the Union Army during the American Civil War, politician and author. Of his novels, his best known is "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ".
